StemandLeaf PlotsHomework:
Pg. 4243 #3437 all Pg. 7576 #3138 all Algebra 2 Review Test on Thursday/Friday. A review packet was given in class. If you were absent, please stop by and ask for one.
Histograms and SkewnessHomework:
Pg. 7276 #512 all, 1922 all, 3940, 4345 all Watch Against All Odds Videos Don't worry about the parts of a problem that ask you for "Standard Deviation" or "Summary Statistics" we will look at in class next time. Algebra 2 Review Test on Thursday/Friday. A review packet was given in class. If you were absent, please stop by and ask for one. Note to Coapstick: Reduce: #512 to 612 evens, the rest is ok.
Looking back at Actors and Actresses and Presidents Activity. Watch the video below to learn how to create easier graphs.

Measures of center

IQR and BoxplotsHomework:
Assigned: Due: next class period. Note: Tuesday is NO SCHOOL! Pg. 7276 #1718, 2326, 2930, 47, 49 Pg. 9598 #512 all BAKE COOKIES FOR NEXT CLASSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Teacher Note:Tuesday(Wednesday), September 19th, 2017
Boxplots Part 2Homework:
Assigned: Thursday(Monday), September 21st Due: next class period. Pg. 95102 #1330 all, 3338 all (Yes, all, we are getting close to the test, be aware of all the nuances and features of all types of graphs, good practice!) Review the Video to understand Ogive Graphs and 5Number Summary
ZScoresHomework:
Assigned: Thursday(Friday), September 28th (in class assignment!) Pg. 129133 #311 all, 1632 evens, 3336 all Teacher note: Have students learn how to read Data Table and complete without calculator first! Note: Today is a Work in Class Day. Experience has taught me some students understand standard deviation, normal distributions, and zscore calculations right away and many need to keep practicing. Whatever we don't finish in class today, will be due next class. Finish Your Unit 1 Graphic Organizer. Read Chapter 5 and 6 and add any and all necessary notes from those chapters to your graphic organizer. Last but not least, you may use this organizer on the Group Quiz on Tuesday(Wednesday) and again on Thursday(Friday) during the Unit 1 test.

Do you know: How to find the standard deviation by hand? What the Zscore formula is and what it does? That Zscores never change? Be careful of the TRAP! Measures of Center/Position: all operations apply. Measures of spread, only affected by multiplication and division. Calculate the mean given two different groups? If you have skewed data! Use the IQR and the Median, every time! And since you are using the IQR and the Median, think about your threshold formulas Q3 + 1.5IQR and Q1 1.5IQR and how you would draw a boxplot! If you have normal data! Use the mean and standard deviation! A Standardized Normal Distribution Curve (or zscore curve) will always have 3 tick marks to the right and 3 tick marks to the left. If you are asked to graph percentages, chances are pie charts, bar graphs, segmented bar graphs and maybe histograms are the way to go. If you are asked about time, time plots are a great option, but histograms might work as well.
